Welcome to Emerson Primary Counseling!

At Emerson Primary, home of the Little Jackets, we believe that all students' social-emotional and academic development should be nurtured through a variety of counseling activities. Through classroom, group, and individual counseling, students are able to find coping strategies that will empower them to become happy, healthy children and productive, resilient adults later in life. We are building the foundation for future personal, academic, and career success at an early age!

Meet the Counselor

Miss Kaitlynn Turner is your School Counselor at Emerson Primary. She graduated from Kent State University in 2018 with a Psychology degree concentrating in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Miss Turner then went on to receive her Master's degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton in 2020. During this time, she interned at the elementary level in Springfield City School District. After spending one year as a school counselor at Fairborn High School, she is very excited to return to the primary setting. Miss Turner is very passionate about early childhood social-emotional learning and early academic success.

Outside of school, Miss Turner enjoys being outside, going to the gym, powerlifting, watching movies, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her two dogs Kemba (black lab) and Kaia (golden retriever).
